New Community Transformation Fund (NCTF) is a venture capital fund backed by two deployed funds, with over 10 companies backed across Michigan. Founded by Skot Welch and Birgit Klohs, NCTF is the only fund in West Michigan to receive a $9.8M commitment from the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF). It is not a grant or charity but a real fund pursuing strong, risk-adjusted returns alongside measurable community impact. NCTF partners with founders from pre-seed through Seed+/Series A, surrounding every company with mentors, customers, and resources through relationships including The Right Place.
