◆ The Week

In the two weeks to 4 November 2026, 21 funds closed new capital totalling $2,585M — up from 15 funds in the previous edition, a rise of 6. Seven of the 21 funds did not disclose their size, so the disclosed figure understates the true volume of capital entering the market.

◆ Stages

Seed-stage mandates dominated with 19 funds declaring coverage, followed by Series A at 14 and pre-seed at 8 — confirming that the bulk of new capital is oriented towards the earliest company-building phases. Series B appeared in 8 fund mandates, while Series C and growth each registered just 1.

◆ Sectors

AI & ML dominated sector focus with 11 of the 21 funds declaring it as a mandate — by some distance the most popular thesis in the window. Climate Tech attracted 3 funds, Fintech and Robotics, Drones & UAV each drew 2, and Advanced Materials, Clean Energy, Deep Tech: Telecom & Connectivity, and IoT & Edge each registered 1. The AI concentration reflects two compounding forces: the continuing race among LPs to gain exposure to foundation-layer and application-layer AI before that access becomes structurally restricted, and the fact that GPs raising now are pitching portfolios shaped by the last 18 months of enterprise AI adoption.
